Current Information:Age-21 18, Woodfield Road, Harrow Road Wancourt British Cemetery, France
On the night of 24th-25th May, 1917, 9th King’s Royal Rifle Corps of 42 Brigade, 14th Division, moved up from Neuville Vitasse to the front line trenches in front of Wancourt. They were relieved on 29th May but not before two men had been killed by shell fire on that day while at Battalion HQ. No other casualties are mentioned so Henry Craven was likely to have been one of these two men. |
